Social Media Marketing: 4 Steps to Success with your Social Media Marketing

Getting started is the HARDEST THING EVER. Trust me. I know. But you have to get started at some point, right? If you’re a beginner to social media marketing, baby step it until you get better and more confident in your abilities. Here is my 4-step process to having social media marketing success. Newbie Approved :)

  1. Start with the goal in mind

Marketing in general, not just social media marketing, is all about strategy and consistency. Developing a clear plan to achieve your goals will yield more positive results than having no plan at all. Whether you want to increase followers, engagement, or sales take a moment to think it out before making your first post.

  2. Find your audience

When thinking about your business, who is your ideal client? When crafting content to market towards an ideal client or demographic, it is important to understand where those ideal clients are. Which social media platform or group will garner the most impact and reach the most people within your target audience? You may need to focus your time on some platforms more heavily than others. Maybe your services are tailored to an older demographic that engages more on Facebook and LinkedIn than on TikTok, or maybe it’s the opposite, your products may be geared towards the Gen Z crowd, so you tend to focus more heavily on TikTok and Instagram instead. Wherever your tribe is, GO THERE, and be relevant!

  3. Create engaging content

Stop! Before you press that submit button, ask yourself these questions. “If I came across this in my feed, would it grab my attention?”, “Does this message make me want to read more?”, “Is this relevant to my target audience?” If you answered NO to one or more of these questions, delete and start over. It’s important to create content that makes people want to engage with you. Bring energy, be fun, and be yourself!

  4. Consistently Improve

Social media platforms are always evolving, and algorithms change constantly. There is always something fresh and new to learn. It is important to evolve your marketing strategies as you go. What worked 2 years ago may not have the same effect now. Adaptability is the name of the game, learn how to play it my friend!
